Richard Adams
Research Scientist/Digital Imaging and Color Reproduction; Research Group;
Graphic Arts Technical Foundation

Dr. Adams focuses on training, research, consulting and publications related to color reproduction, including desktop color separation, high-end color scanning, densitometry, colorimetry, and spectrophotometry. He received an M.S. in printing technology from Rochester Institute of Technology where he specialized in electronic prepress, color scanning, and color measurement.

Gregory A. Bassinger
Process Controls Technician: Graphic Arts Technical Foundation

Mr. Bassinger specializes in setting industry standards in the field of photography, developing quality control devices to aid photographers and separators, and testing and evaluating new photographic digital imaging hardware and software. He has extensive industry experience in digital photography, types and models of digital capturing devices and how they relate to the separation process, Photoshop and offset printing.

Frank Benevento
Faculty Emeritus; Graphic Arts Technical Foundation

Frank has more than 30 years of graphic arts experience. At GATF, he was director of the Technical Information Department, responsible for the development of textbooks and audiovisuals. He also conducted workshops, seminars and in-plant productivity training for printers and graphic arts teachers worldwide. Mr. Benevento has an M.S. degree in vocational industrial education and an M.S. degree in curriculum supervision from the University of Pittsburgh.

Jill Butler
University of Houston

Jill Butler recently graduated from the University of Houston with a Masters of Science in Occupational Technology, specializing in graphic technology. She has worked as a graphic designer, prepress technician, consultant, web page designer and has taught classes at the University of Houston in all these areas. She has also worked as a graphics consultant for many companies throughout Houston.

Sid Chadwick
Chadwick Consulting, Inc.

Sid Chadwick has spent his entire career in business-to-business sales, sales management and marketing. He has also been a contributing columnist on sales and marketing topics for PRE, American Printer, Graphic Arts Monthly, and the Printing Industries of America newsletter, Sales and Marketing. Mr. Chadwick is a faculty member of the Printing Industries of America Executive Development Program. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina and has performed doctoral candidate work in Human and Organizational Development Systems.

Rex Chu
ColorOne

Rex holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from the University of Houston. He owns an electronic prepress service bureau in Houston and is an instructor with the Texas Printing Education Foundation, teaching preflighting, Photoshop and QuarkXPress. Mr. Chu also teaches non-credit desktop publishing courses for the Texas Printing Institute. In particular, he has taught most of the electronic prepress technicians who work at the Houston Chronicle.

Stanley Clark
Duffy Cardwell Clark & Clarke

Mr.Clark received his B.A. in economics from the University of California, Berkley. He has a masters degree and is a Certified Financial Planner. His firm advises business owners on ownership succession planning, discriminatory benefits, capital gains, estate taxes and much more. He addressed numerous professional societies and conventions, and has appeared as guest panelist on the Southwestern Financial Assoc. Program, "Transition Funding: Venture Capital Financing in the Family Business Market."

Lisa Croft
InFORMed Solutions

Miss Croft is an Information Systems Specialist with 10+ years experience in programming and application development, and expertise in integrating and implementing systems. She has assisted in implementing the forms automation at Pennzoil and the University of Houston, and helped create an Electronic Forms Intranet application at United Space Alliance that gives a potential 10,000 users access to 1200+ forms.

Sandra Devall
College of the Mainland

Sandra's 30 years of experience in printing, publishing and education have equipped her with a wealth of information from which you can benefit immediately. She has been active on national and state boards that identify job-related criteria for printing programs. Her numerous publication credits include Desktop Publishing StyleGuide, released in August. She appeared on the PBS "Computer Workshop" with Looking Good in Print and edited the video, Merging and Emerging Technology, Printing and Publishing.

Patricia J. Eldridge
Director of Regulatory Services; Printing Industries of the Gulf Coast

Ms. Eldridge conducts OSHA/safety & environmental assessments and compliance training sessions for employees. She also monitors regulatory activity and has interacted extensively with regulators at all levels of government. For the past five years, Ms. Eldridge has been coordinator for the PIA Affiliate Roundtable, a national forum for the exchange of environmental, health, and safety information among industry associations. She sits on the Houston Small Business Advisory Committee of the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission.

David Fellman

Dave heads a sales and marketing consulting firm serving the printing, business forms and graphic arts supplies industries. His articles on sales, marketing and management topics have appeared in PIA Management Portfolio, Southern Graphics, Quick Printing, Australian Printer, Graphic Monthly, QIT and a number of PIA Affiliate publications.

Howard Fenton
Senior Technical Consultant; Graphic Arts Technical Foundation

Fenton is a recognized author, trainer, consultant and speaker. He served as editor-in-chief of Pre magazine, and as contributing editor of TypeWorld, Printing News, Color Publishing and Magazine Design and Production. He has written over 200 articles, including a section in the McGraw-Hill Science and Technology Yearbook, scripts for the Agfa Across America seminars, PIA's Print Scan audiotape series, and Apple PowerTools for Publishing Seminar.

Chris Heric

Involved in PostScript Imaging systems since 1986, Chris has been a strong proponent of the PDF publishing model since its inception. His company, CJH & Co. specializes in PDF prepress and publishing systems for traditional print, Internet, and electronic media. Chris is a member of the SWOP Review Committee, the Adobe Technical Advisory Board, and other industry-related committees and organizations.

Lauron Sonnier McCulloch
Paradigm Proactive Business Services Corporation

Ms. McCulloch specializes in print and Internet development. She has extensive knowledge in the graphic arts industry, having served as marketing director of Rasch Graphic Services Corporation prior to launching Paradigm, a marketing and communications firm. She has had numerous articles featured in the Houston Business Journal, American Printer, In-Plant Printer and Southern Graphics magazine.

Norm Pegram
International Mailing Systems, Inc.

Norm is president and founder of International Mailing Systems, Inc. He received his MBA from UT Austin in 1977. He has served in various positions in the Mail Advertising Service Assoc. and the Houston Direct Marketing Assoc.

Donald M. Piercy
Director, The Museum of Printing History; Director Emeritus, Printing Industries of the Gulf Coast

As Executive Director of PIGC, Mr. Piercy helped many printers value their businesses, find qualified buyers and negotiated the sales. He has provided seminars on valuing and selling businesses across the U.S. and Canada. He is a founder and board member of the Texas Printing Education Foundation, a well known speaker, the recipient of numerous industry awards and the author of a variety of books, including The Integrated Human Resource System and Pricing for Profit.

Michael A. Salsgiver
Technical Consultant; Graphic Arts Technical Foundation

Mr. Salsgiver is the principal coordinator and a presenter for the Sheetfed Offset Training Simulator (SHOTS) a highly integrated, interactive software package used as a training system for press operators. He serves as workshop leader for the Web Offset Press Operating workshop, presents on-site seminars, and conducts Technical Plant Assessments (TPAs), in-plant press tests, observations and evaluation of a printer's production operations with special emphasis on methods, techniques, equipment, and training.

William L. Schieffer, Sr.
Director, Human Resource Services; Printing Industries of the Gulf Coast

With over 22 years of human resource and administrative management experience, Bill has extensive knowledge in the practical application of labor law. He has conducted seminars on human resource topics for the Printing and Imaging Association of Texas, the University of Houston and the PIGC. Bill holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, Houston Human Resource Management Assoc., and the Human Resource Consultants Network- Houston.

Dr. Jerry Waite
University of Houston

Dr. Waite is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Technology in the College of Technology at the University of Houston. Jerry teaches courses in graphic communications technology and communications systems. He and colleague Cheryl Willis have written three textbooks for graphic arts education, including texts for QuarkXPress and Photoshop. Jerry earned his doctorate at UCLA and his masters and bachelors degrees from California State University, Los Angeles.

Tobi Watashe

Patrick White

Recipient of the NAPL 1998 Technical Leadership Award. Mr. White is one of the industry's leading prepress consultants. He has developed curriculum and served as the primary speaker for Color Across America, the NAPL Top Management Conference, GraphExpo, and the Linotype Hell Seminar Series. He also developed, and continues to write for the NAPL Desktop for Profit monthly newsletter. In 1995, White founded Digital Art Exchange (DAX), which is today the leading integrator of ISDN and related technologies for prepress connectivity applications.
